Renewable Energies

Azierta Group joined in 2007 to challenge involves the development of renewable energies betting on Wind Energy with its subsidiary
“Eólica Valle de Peraleda”.

With its wind energy development projects, Azierta Group promotes
sustainable development, thus reducing CO2 emissions to the atmosphere and contributing to slowing climate change.

The Eolic Park
"Valle de Peraleda” is one of the 22 wind farms approved by the Regional Government of Extremadura of the 91 applications initially presented. The 50 MW of Wind Peraleda Valley, located in one park, account for 11% of market share in wind energy in Extremadura. With this license the Group becomes the fifth in wind power in Extremadura after the big companies: IBERDROLA, UNION FENOSA (EUFER) SACYR AND ACCIONA.

With an output of 50 MWh per year, “Eólica Valle de Peraleda” can provide clean energy to 23,000 homes and 27,000 tons reduction in emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), so it will be a leader in wind energy production in Extremadura.

The construction of this Wind Farm is designed and intended for using of the wind resource at the site designated for, through the most modern and competitive technology, generating electricity and making it available to the national electricity market, while maintaining high environmental quality criteria and employment generation and wealth in the region.

THE EOLIC PARK “VALLE DE PERALEDA”
The operation of the park, arranged in an estate of over 300 hectares, will produce electricity from wind in the area known as "Cuchillar de la Sierpe", "Cuchillar del Calabar" and, to the south, the line between the hills "Santa Inés" and the "Cabezo" in the Municipal Term of “Peraleda del Zaucejo” province of Badajoz.

The park has a privileged location, the area around the Pico de Santa Ines de 848 m in height, has the highest wind potential in Extremadura according to previous studies. The arrangement of hills facilitates placement of wind turbines in an optimal way, allowing for greater energy efficiency. The total installed capacity will be
50 MW.

To minimize the environmental impact of the evacuation of the wind farm, and as more wind farms are close to this, the evacuation infrastructures will be share, for that reason the evacuation substation (Nudo Higuera de la Serena) will be built jointly by area promoters.

Exploitation, since its commissioning, the wind farm will be for 25 years. Moreover, additional investments will be made dedicated to the promotion of the neighboring municipalities through the generation of wealth via direct or indirect creation of employment generating activities.
