The airport of Tenerife Sur is one of the backbones of the economy of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. With the construction of the new departure terminal, the capacity of the airport has been increased from 3,000 to 4,400 passengers per hour.
The new departure building, where Azierta was in charge of the control and supervision of the construction works, has involved an investment of € 27.03 M and its usable floor area is 21,400 square meters.
This new facility will be used for checking in and the processing of baggage and will be connected to the current terminal via a walkway so that passengers will directly access the check-in hall or access the boarding area.
It will also have a parking space for 213 vehicles and a traffic circle will improve accesses.
